

Alan Fisher is a senior correspondent with the global 24 hour news channel, Al Jazeera (English). Since the station launched, he's travelled across Europe and beyond including stints in Lebanon, Jerusalem and Afghanistan.
He was formerly Chief correspondent with GMTV where he became a regular face on Britain's TV screens.
A television journalist for more than 20 years, Alan has reported on some of the major global news stories in that time including two Gulf Wars, airstrikes on Baghdad, the death of Diana, Princess of Wales, the War in Bosnia, the 'Troubles' in Northern Ireland, the Bali and London bombings and the Dunblane massacre. He's also covered numerous political events including elections in the UK, France, Holland and the USA.>
At the last count, he has reported from more than forty countries around the world and has a wealth of international news experience.
A regular contributor to radio, newspapers and 'The Journalist's Handbook', Alan is also a patron of the Young UK programme aimed at 17-29 year olds.
An accomplished speaker, he's addressed Home Office training courses and has been the keynote speaker at a number of high profile events here and abroad covering topics such as the role of the media, terrorism and emergency planning. He is also a respected conference chair and was recently praised for his role as chairman at a major international conference organised by the Dutch Government in The Hague.
